You know when someone says that they need to tell you something and it involves good and bad news, they ask which one you’d like to hear first. I’ve noticed that most of the time, people want to hear the bad news first instead of the good news.

Why is that?

Because then they will not be just thinking about what kind of bad news you have to tell them and they can enjoy the good news more.

any positiveness that would come from the good news would be immediately crushed by the bad news. plus i guess it just feels better to hear something good after you have been let down. and if the person told u the good news and you werent impressed, where do they go from there? good question tho that is interesting

The reason for this is because the bad news maybe bad so they want to hear it first and usually most of the time the good news has something to do with he bad news to turn it around

When you hear the bad news you wanna hear what you did not expect. Most likely the the good news is easy to cope with if you expect it or not. I like hearing the bad news first because I would like to hear that problem first and the good news can become secondary because im sure its nothing that is strenuous or not easily hard to accpet.
